Top Three – Espresso Myths Busted

Espresso myths are made to be busted...

and that's what I'm going to do in this video.  Of course there are far more than three myths about espresso.  Yet the myths I decided to bust in this video are the ones that are pretty persistent and should really be put to rest once and for all.  The espresso myths busted in this video are on the surface pretty simple, but actually require a bit more explanation to wrap your head around them.

The first of which is about crema.  It's been stated (but more likely theorized) that you can tell about the quality of an espresso shot by looking at the crema.  I'll talk about why that's not entirely true, and how freshness and the coffee's processing method really comes into play in that crema depth.  Also, I'll break down the long standing debate that blends make better espresso, which is clearly just flat out not true.  I'll tell you why.  Last, but certainly not least, I'll explain why it's been believed that there is such a thing as an "espresso roast".  Then I'll tell you why that doesn't really exist.

So hit play on that video, and lets get those espresso myths busted already!
