Niche Duo – Unboxing & First Look

The time has finally come...

after all the speculation, rumors, and even modifications, there is finally a new addition to the Niche lineup; the Niche Duo. It mysteriously appeared on their website on April 1st, and maybe even caught some folks off-guard, but it's no April fools joke. The Duo is real and I've got one. It showed up just a couple days before it's quiet, no-fuss release, so I didn't have the time to put it through its paces and get a broad idea of how it performs for a full review, but it does have one very unique aspect so I figured its a perfect time to do an unboxing and first look.

Even though the Niche Duo on the surface looks like a slightly larger version of the original Zero, it carries with it a couple of twists. For one, it uses 83mm flat burrs from Mazzer, but the name Duo isn't just because it's their second release. It actually has two sets of burrs, one is filter focused, and the other is maximized for espresso. It's also designed to swap these burrs in and out with one tool, in a matter of minutes. So its truly aiming to be a jack-of-all-trades.

So with that quick and simple crash coarse, it maybe hard to picture it in your head, so hit play on the video above and let's get to know the Niche Duo a bit better.
