Some of you might remember...
that back in March I made a video that was a direct, side by side comparison of two espresso machines. The $500 Gaggia Classic, and the $5000 Linea Mini, Both of course, in the most basic terms, apply pressurized water onto ground coffee, essentially the fundamental definition of espresso. But like any hobby, passion, interest, or whatever you want to call, it you can spend as much or as little as you’d like on equipment, and as I’m in the very unique position of being able to put these two very different options head to head, I can’t help but want to do it.
So in today’s video I’ll be comparing the Rancilio Silvia Pro X, a $2000 machine, to the La Marzocco GS3 Manual Paddle, an $8000 machine. Just like the other side by side video I’ll be taking a closer look at their differences and similarities beyond the price tag - and of course, rounding out with a blind taste test of shots for each machine. Now I don’t want to be too presumptuous here, but I think this will be one comparison you won’t want to miss, so hit play on that video above and let's brew this!
